Zac McGraw getting his first international call with Team Canada

Zac McGraw has gotten his first international call with the Canadian Men’s National Team for the upcoming 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup Tournament as it was announced today by Canada Soccer.

After the Chicago Fire match, McGraw will join Team Canada for his international debut.

In his four seasons with the Portland Timbers, McGraw has made 50 regular season appearances in (30 starts) and scored two goals. On this campaign, McGraw has played the second most minutes on the team (1516) and leading the Timbers with (19) blocks, (32) interceptions and 53 (aerial duels won).

The 26-year-old defender was selected by Portland in the third round of the 2020 MLS SuperDraft being (68th overall) becoming the first Army player drafted in MLS history.

Canada will play in Group D of the 2023 Gold Cup Tournament. Canada will make its debut on June 27th at BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario; with kickoff scheduled at 4:00 PM (PST) with an opponent to be decided at the event preliminary stage.

Team Canada will play against Guatemala on July 1st at 6:30 PM (PST) and its final group stage against Cuba on July 4th at 3:30 PM (PST) with both of the latter matches to be played in Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas.
