Ousted 6.5

Maybe not his best day between the sticks but he’ll be delighted with the clean sheet. His decisions off his line were a little wild at times luckily he usually got away with them.

Beitashour 7.5

Received an early booking when Homegrown midfielder Ignacio Maganto got the wrong side of him. But other than that he kept the youngster at bay for much of the game and was rarely troubled down the right.

Waston 7.5

Another solid outing in central defense for the Costa Rican, he looks far more comfortable alongside Kah.

LAvVancouver21Kah 7.5

Being rested for Montreal did Kah a world of good. He was agile intercepting most of what LA put into the box along with showing his dominance in the air.

Harvey 6.0

Despite collecting the clean sheet he allowed right back Oscar Sorto to cross from wide far too easily even if the centre backs dealt with most of the danger. He failed to get forward as much as usual which was in part due to the attacking nature of the Galaxy full back supporting Ishizaki.

Laba 6.0

Not his best performance but that’s his fault for setting his standards so incredibly high. He was a little overeager at times flying into tackles and having to watch his opponent round him with ease. Fortunately Koffie kept it tight in behind.

LAvVancouver2Koffie 7.0

Very good performance as he looks full of confidence from his goal in the win over Real Salt Lake. He fouled at the right moments to break up the Galaxy’s momentum, backing up his defensive partner Laba.

Techera 5.0

It was a poor performance from the tiny winger as he has yet to improve upon his debut performance. He did strike the post after a clever pass by Manneh. But other than he was very quiet.

Morales 6.0

He was unable to control the midfield like you would expect from the Designated Player, with his touch escaping him at times and his through balls wayward. He was gifted the opportunity to double the ‘Caps lead late on but unbelievably clipped the post from close range.

Manneh 8.5

A huge improvement from Manneh as he not only attacked with increased purpose but defended superbly, helping Harvey deal with Sorto down the left. With Sorto attacking so much, he managed to isolate the slower Omar Gonzalez one-on-one and get his goal by wrong footing the US international.

Rivero 6.5

Not that his effort lacked but he was not at all on the same page as Pedro Morales often running in the opposite direction from where Morales sent his passes. He broke away at speed setting up Morales for an easy tap in but we all know how that ended. He had the opportunity to set up Mattocks in exactly the same fashion but the cross wasn’t up to snuff.

Substitutes

LAvVancouver20Teibert 6.0 (75’)

He didn’t get overly involved but his energy kept LA from finding any easy openings through the middle.

Rosales 6.5 (75’)

Replaced the flawless Manneh and kept it smart defensively to help his team to the win.

Mattocks 6.0 (81’)

Helped the ‘Caps on the counter attack towards the end and put himself in a perfect position in front of goal to receive Rivero’s square ball, however, the pass was awful.
