FOXBOROUGH, MA– The New England Revolution have traded midfielder Latif Blessing and an international roster slot to Toronto FC for midfielder Mark-Anthony Kaye.
The Revolution acquired Latif Blessing this offseason from LAFC for $400,000 in guaranteed General Allocation Money (GAM). The deal also included incentives where LAFC could receive up to an additional $300,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM).
This season, Blessing, 26, made 15 appearances, (14 starts) for the Revolution. He provided 0 goals and 1 assist for the club. On top of that, he went 402/462 (87% pass accuracy) along with a duel win percentage of 53.1%.
Early Tuesday morning, sources close to me confirmed that the Revolution would be making an inter-league trade involving one of their midfielders.

Just 6 hours later, Blessing was confirmed as the outgoing player by Seth Macomber (@Sethman31) of the Blazing Musket.

Just one hour after confirmation from Seth Macomber, The Athletics’ Tom Bogert announced that the trade was finalized, and that the Revolution would be receiving Mark-Anthony Kaye in the deal.

Mark-Anthony Kaye is a 28-year-old, 6’2, 170lb Central Midfielder from Toronto, Canada.
In career numbers, the midfielder has contributed 24 career goals, 22 assists, along with 31 yellow cards and 1 red card.
At the club level, Kaye has played 236 career games (17,209 minutes) across the United States and Canada with Toronto FC III (2014), Toronto FC II (2015), Louisville City (2016-2017), LAFC (2018-2021), Colorado Rapids (2021-22) and Toronto FC (2022-2023). He now joins his 4th MLS club in New England. Internationally, Kaye is a regular for the Canada Men’s National Team. He has made 40 international appearances for the Canada since 2017. He has appeared in the 3 editions of the Concacaf Gold Cup and was called up for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The New England Revolution (11-7-4, 40 pts.) remain in Foxborough, Massachusetts to face D.C. United (8-6-9, 30 pts.) in an MLS Match on Saturday, July 15th. The match kicks off in Gillette Stadium at 7:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.
