Vancouver, BC- One of the biggest fears that every supporter has is how their team will respond to coming off of a match against a big rival. There is always this perception that no matter what nothing can match the emotional high of the previous fixture and that a letdown is bound to happen. That seemed to be the case for Whitecaps FC 2 on Saturday. After consecutive victories over Cascadia rivals S2 and T2 on the road the Caps 2 surrendered a second half goal to Billy Forbes and lost to visiting San Antonio FC by the score of 2-1.
Aly Hassan opened up the scoring for SAFC in the 22nd minute. Caps 2 were able to equalize thanks to a tap in from Marco Bustos in the 45th minute. But Forbes’ goal one minute later was enough to dash any hopes that Vancouver had at winning their home-opener at Thunderbird Stadium.
