Portland Timbers 2-San Jose Earthquakes 0
Those Portland Timbers 2 guys might be on to something. On Wednesday night at Providence Park the Portland Timbers used a side that might be more familiar to those who watch the team on USL nights this season. Whether they played on the senior or junior side normally didn’t really matter as they defeated the San Jose Earthquakes 2-0 to advance in the 2018 U.S. Open Cup.
Jeremy Ebobisse (28′) and Dairon Asprilla (66′) provided the goals for the Timbers. With the win they will move on to the next round of U.S. Open Cup play where they will host the Los Angeles Galaxy at a date and time to be determined.
