New England Revolution 1-D.C. United 1

It almost looked like the New England Revolution were going to walk away with three points. Despite losing goalkeeper Matt Turner due to a red card, the Revs held the 1-0 lead very late into the match. But a handball in the box and a penalty kick chance was all D.C. United needed to snatch a point in their 1-1 draw with the Revs.

It appeared as if things might have turned out worse for New England on Saturday after Turner was sent off for his collision with Wayne Rooney. But the Revs struck near the hour point in the match with Cristian Penilla hitting a curling cross into the box. Juan Agudelo was at the back post to flick it into the back of the net.

The Revs defense faced a flurry of chances by United in the final quarter of the matchm at times having to make emergency clears to preserve the result. D.C. were gifted a penalty in the 90th minute after Brandon Bye handled the ball in the box. Rooney took the ensuing kick and buried his shot, getting his eighth goal of the season and earning the draw for D.C.

On hand to cover the match was photographer Dylan Foran. You can give him your thoughts on Twitter @DF14Photography and all of our photos on SmugMug.
