No surprise here with Yimmi Chara being on MLS Team of the Week for Week 1. As his stunning bicycle kick in minute 78 delivered the equalizing goal against the New England Revolution.
By sharing the spoils, both the Timbers and Revolution drew at 2 goals each with Dairon Aspirilla’a 60th-minute goal and Chara culminating it with a beauty of a goal that for sure will make it into Goal of the Week.
For manager Giovanni Savarese, the gamble paid off with a 4-4-2 formation and with Yimmi Chara playing alongside Jaroslaw Niezgoda in the frontal attack. I foresee another stellar season for the younger of the Chara clan and maybe one of many more nominations for MLS Team of the Week.
