Back-to-back mentions in MLS Team of the Week for Week 2 for Portland Timbers midfielder Yimmi Chara turned striker, after scoring what was almost the winning goal against a fighting LAFC.
With an early and acrobatic goal in the 18th minute, the younger Chara put on the Timbers in the lead for the entire match. Unfortunately, the equalizer came for the home team in stoppage time in the 93rd minute.
For manager Giovanni Savarese, using again a more offensive 4-4-2 formation almost paid off in the end but by the looks of the younger of the Chara clan. We are on the verge of seeing an amazing campaign from the Colombian as the man is playing amazing football and results are evident in the Timbers’ last two matches.
