Vancouver Whitecaps 1-1 Tigres UANL

LANGFORD, BC–Andre Pierre-Gignac denied Vancouver Whitecaps a victory in the opening leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup as his free kick goal in the 88th minute gave Tigres a 1-1 draw at the Starlight Stadium in Langford, BC. Damir Kreilach opened the scoring for the Whitecaps in the 32nd minute for the hosts. The Caps had a second goal ruled out for offside in the 53rd minute by VAR.

The second leg will take place at Estadio Universitario in San Nicolas de los Garza, Mexico on Feb. 14.

The first leg took place at Starlight Stadium in Langford, due to a scheduling conflict with the Whitecaps usual home at BC Place.
