Seattle Sounders FC squares off against the New York Red Bulls Sunday to start their 2017 MLS home schedule on national television. Prior to the match, home fans will celebrate Seattle’s 2016 MLS Cup win over Toronto FC.
In the videos below, Fox Sports soccer analyst Alexi Lalas and Sounders FC broadcaster Kasey Keller shared their thoughts on the Sounders’ 2016 season, forward Clint Dempsey’s return to league and national team play, and the U.S. Mens National Team under new head coach Bruce Arena.
Lalas and Keller agreed Seattle won the last year’s MLS championship in improbable fashion. They also discussed Dempsey’s 2017 home debut after suffering from an irregular heartbeat that ended his 2016 campaign prematurely in August.
With the USMNT facing two critical World Cup qualifiers against Honduras and Panama, Lalas wondered how the squad would react under Arena’s leadership.
