Ousted 7.5
3rd clean sheet in 5 games this season, 4W-1L-0D 0.80GAA makes him the hottest goalkeeper in the MLS so far this season. Dominated all balls in his box all game long, scooped up or punched out all crosses that Kendall Waston didn’t clear himself. Didn’t have to make any huge saves because his positioning was excellent all game long.
Beitashour 6.5
Was one of the only players on the pitch who didn’t have a great game. Got caught stepping up too far on the pitch a few too many times. The Galaxy forwards where able to go over the top and have him chase down the wing a few too many times in my opinion.
Waston 8.0
The big man dominated from start to finish, had a great game clearing every ball that came in the defensive box. The Galaxy wasn’t able to get anything started when Waston was around. Is quickly becoming one of the best center-back in the MLS and other teams are starting to notice.
Kah 6.0
Another game and another silly yellow card by Kah. He decided to run at three Galaxy players when he had no one covering behind him. Had to grab the jersey to stop a sure breakaway. He shouldn’t have put himself in that position to begin with. Other then that he played strong partnering with Waston in the defensive box.
Adekugbe 7.0
Looking like a full time MLS starter with each game he plays. Is continuing to play like a seasoned veteran, even though he is only 6 games into his career. Was lucky he wasn’t even more hurt when Waston and him collided on a clearance late in the game. The Whitecaps are now 4W-0L-0D when young Adekugbe starts.
Teibert 10.0
Yes I gave him a perfect score, even though he didn’t score. Before people start complaining make sure you watch the game. He was able to stay on Robbie Keane’s hip all game long, he was able to visibly upset him in the second half and he managed to pick up a great second assist on Kekuta Manneh’s goal.
That is no small feat by any player but especially on the reigning MLS MVP. This was by far the best defensive game in Teibert’s pro football career.
Laba 7.5
Laba was being Laba again. Linked up well with Teibert to completely shut down the middle of the pitch. The Galaxy weren’t able to get anything started through the middle of the pitch. Because of Laba all their attacks had to start down the wings.
Mezquida 7.5
His best game of the year, was able to get involved in the play and stepped up in the second half. Had a great chance to score on the Rivero goal before Octavio knocked in the rebound. With Mauro Rosales getting match fit quicker then everyone thought and Cristian Techera coming in next week, Mequida will need to continue this play to keep his starting spot.
Morales 8.0
He makes passes that no other players in this league can make. Could of had three or four assists tonight if the players where able to bury there chances. Three assists in the last three games, now tied for the MLS lead. If you have a chance watch the curve and spin he puts on the ball on the pass to set up the Manneh goal. World Class.
Manneh 7.5
Great goal to open up his goal scoring account this season. A nice cut into the middle of the pitch and a great shot to bury it in the bottom corner to give the Whitecaps a lead that they didn’t give up. Had five or six chances to score but was a little too eager with the ball in the first half.
66′ Octavio Rivero bangs home his 4th goal of the season from close range. Nico Mezquida setting up his fellow Uruguayan with an excellent cutback that Penedo had to push into Rivero’s path.
Rivero 8.0
Does so much more then score goals!!! The goals are just the icing on the cake that is Rivero. When he had the ball with his back to the defenders they couldn’t get it off him. Made a great shoulder barge on Gonzalez followed by a great spin off him to get open for his fourth goal in five games.
Is going down a few times a little too easily but will learn he wont get this calls and is smart enough to learn he can’t keep doing that.
Mattocks 7.0
Was great off the bench, used his speed well running at the tired Galaxy defenders. Wasn’t able to get a good shot off but was still dangerous in his limited minutes. Was looking too build off his two goals in his two Jamician national team games.
Flores 7.0
Carl Robinson is so high on this young 18yr old. He has so much speed that sometimes he is too fast for his own feet. Will be interesting to see if Flores gets minutes when Koffie is healthy.
Even players off the bench like Hurtado go in on the action.
Hurtado 7.0
Very few minutes but still was able to create some chances in the game. Might be the forward on the outside of MLS minutes when Techera gets here. His speed might be well suited for the ThunderCaps.
