USMNT 1-Chile 1
Chile had the futbol to win the match, but they were okay with the final 1-1. On the other hand, Team USA is getting ready for a busy summer and Tuesday’s result was a sign that things continue to be heading in a positive direction. Christian Pulisic and Oscar Opazo scored early on the match (4’ and 9’) for a well fought tie at BBVA Compass Stadium in Texas.
The return of the USMNT to H-Town was a success for new head coach Gregg Berhalter, who remains undefeated . The transition-process the team is going through seems it is going smooth for a team that has its eyes on the Gold Cup. Facing two-time Copa America champion was a big challenge and the team showed character on this match.
On the other hand, Chile and their new coach Reinaldo Rueda struggled in their tour of the United States, having lost against Mexico and after their against the US. Even though they created many opportunities in offense, especially coming from Barcelona start Arturo Vidal, La Roja had bad results in these two matches. The team is trying to fix things up ahead of the Copa America this summer after not being part of the World Cup last year.
After the tie both teams have a better idea of where they are and what they need to work on for the important tournaments they will face in less than four months.
