The Philadelphia Union dropped 2 points Saturday night, after conceding a late goal to the Montreal Impact. The Canadian’s started the stronger of the teams, however, controlling the flow of the first half, and defending as a unit. The Union surprised Montreal with a stellar goal from Tranquillo Barnetta. The Swiss midfielder glided past several Montreal players before swinging across the ball, placing it in the far right corner, just minutes before the end of the first half. The second half then was controlled by the Union. On both sides of the ball Philadelphia seemed more confident and in control, but just like the first half the team struggling to create good chances struck with an equalizer. Harry Shipp curled in a great cross from the top of the Union box after a failed corner attempt. Matteo Mancosu read the cross perfectly and headed home off of a bounce from a tight angle.
