Houston Dynamo 5-NTX Rayados 0

The old adage is true: There is no such thing as an easy out in the U.S. Open Cup. On Wednesday night at BBVA Compass Stadium the Houston Dynamo had to fight, scratch and claw their way past NTX Rayados. While the scoreline says 5-0 and Houston were the winners on the day the Rayados earned the respect of all who were in attendance.

The Dynamo’s were scored by Memo Rodriguez (55′ and 71′), Aldo Quintanilla (68′ and 90’+2′), and Matias Zaldivar (88′). With the win they move on to the Open Cup fifth round to face Minnesota United FC (June 18, 8PM CST, BBVA Compass Stadium).

On hand to cover the match was Prost Amerika’s own Jose Castellanos. You can check out all of his Houston Dynamo work this season on SmugMug and give him your thoughts on all things Texas soccer on Twitter.
