Top 2:
David Ousted
Another great game for The Great Dane. Doesn’t matter if they win 3-0 or lose 4-0, he has been the best player on the pitch for the team all season long. Makes the best quality of saves of any keeper in this league and is the current MLS leader with 34 saves so far this season. His stop off Barrios from point blank range should win him another MLS save of the week honour.
Matias Laba
The Matias Laba from last season finally showed up. Was all over the pitch and made all the right plays to help this team keep the clean sheet. Made great tackles, had hustle plays running down player and was physical enough going for the ball in the middle of the pitch. Let’s hope he can keep this quality of play up for the rest of this season.
Bottom 2:
Fraser Aird
Was one of the least effective players on the pitch but still had a decent game. Was beaten down the wing a few too many times for my liking but was able to track back more than not and make sure the crosses that beat him weren’t the best quality. Needs to keep learning from every start and he will be one of the better young defenders in the MLS.
Andrew Jacobson
In the same boat as Aird, he didn’t have a bad game but everyone else was just more effective then he was. Plus it’s hard to look good when you are partnered with Matias Laba. Laba always takes the shine with his great quality. Jacobson has been a great edition for the team and is a way better option than Russell Teibert and Deybi Flores.
