Vancouver Whitecaps vs Colorado Rapids 23 May 2015-7
Top 2:

Pedro Morales

– Was subbed on in the 77th minute and added a spark to his team on the pitch. Was able to get his teammates involved in the play and the Whitecaps had a major amount of their decent chances after he came into the game. After playing a full 90 minutes on Wednesday coach Carl Robinson decided to rest his legs by sitting him on the bench to start the game.

Had a beautiful free kick goal beat the Rapids keeper into the top corner but it was called off for a phantom foul by Pa-Madou Kah for pushing in the wall.

With all the games coming up in the next few months Morales will have to keep adding that spark and the Whitecaps will have to pick up all the points they can with all the games on the road.

Octavio Rivero

– Needs help up front, game in and game out he is the only offensive bright spot for this team. Time and time he holds the ball up nicely but his wingers fail to get down the wing and give him some passing options. Other than that he looks like a man left on an island and has no teammates around him and he is left to do everything all by himself.

Might be time to play another striker (Mattocks or Techera) to play with him up top and give him some options once the ball is played into him. They would give him better options on the ball allowing some one twos with them up top.

Needs some help and this team can’t afford to be a one trick pony.

Bottom 2:

Kianz Froese

– Was expecting to see more from this young Canadian. Wanted to see him get more involved into the game by going into the middle of the pitch and playing off Rivero. Had a great chance in the box where he got called on a weak yellow card after barely making contact with the Rapids goalkeeper.

Would be nice to see him get a decent run of minutes in MLS or even USL to get his confidence up so he can excel on the pitch.
Gershon Koffie

Vancouver Whitecaps vs Colorado Rapids 23 May 2015-15– Complained way too much to the referee for my liking. Seemed like every time he got knocked down on the pitch and didn’t get a call he was quick to complain and took himself out of the play.

Needs to continue to keep his head down and just play the damn game. With Russell Teibert recovering from a knock expect to see Koffie come off the bench in the upcoming games.
