Timbers Midfielder Andy Polo out for the remainder of season

Portland Timbers midfielder Andy Polo will undergo surgery on Wednesday to repair a right ruptured quadriceps muscle and a torn meniscus, sidelining him for the remainder of the 2021 regular season.

LA Galaxy defender Derrick Williams was sent off after a hard tackle inn the first half over Andy Polo.

So far, the Portland Timbers have nine players on its injury report and Andy Polo will join defender Ismaila Joma and goalkeeper Jeff Attinella to miss the rest of the season with injuries.

Andy Polo has played in 62 games with 40 starts for Portland since the 2018 season scoring 2 goals, contributing with 5 assists, and with 57 shots being 19 on target.

The injury of Polo is considered a serious setback for Timbers manager Giovanni Savarese’s plans as lately in the last two games and leading the attack and taking advantage of the opportunity until this injury impediment.

For Polo, he watched the second half of the game on crutches and wearing a leg brace.
