Three Portland Timbers players have gotten a call from their respective countries in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers towards Qatar 2022 with striker Felipe Mora to represent Chile and defenders Pablo Bonilla for Venezuela and Bill Tuiloma for New Zealand.

Pablo Bonilla will play with Venezuela against Brazil on October 7th, against Ecuador on October 10th, and finish against Chile on October 14th. Felipe Mora with La Roja (The Reds) will face off Peru on October 7th, Paraguay on October 10th, and Venezuela on October 14th.

For defender Bill Tuiloma and the New Zealand National Team, the All Whites will play a couple of friendlies against Curacao on October 9th and Bahrain on October 12th.

Pablo Bonilla, 21, will join the Senior Venezuelan National team for the first time. Before, he has played with his country U-20s and U-23s. Most recently at the 2020 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament, Bonilla participated as a starter in three consecutive first-round matches for Venezuela.

Mora, 28, has made eight appearances with the Chilean National Team, scoring one goal against Guinea on October 15, 2019. So far, Mora has appeared in three South American World Cup qualifiers, including a 1-1 draw against Bolivia on June 8.  The Timbers striker debut with La Roja was on May 31, 2018.

Bill Tuiloma, 26, joins New Zealand for the first time since 2018. He has been a part of New Zealand’s U-17, U-20, and U-23 teams before his senior debut on October 15, 2013, at the age of 18. Tuiloma has made 26 appearances for All Whites.
