This past Thursday December 13, in the Timbers last press conference of the year, announced the likes of Ned Grabavoy as their new Technical Director. After the man that had a career that span for about thirteen years and playing for seven squads.
As in 2016, he came to Portland Timbers as a player, that campaign he decided to call it quits. Still his time in Rose City did not stop there. As the Portland, organization appointed him as director of scouting and recruitment. His announcement came after the Timbers unexpectedly being in the postseason and this man being one of its contributors.
However, his new responsibility as a technical director uplifts his role to a wider role. He will oversee player, coaching developments and day-to-day operations and business of the club. After the past Thursday, press conference the enthusiasm of GM Gavin Wilkinson and Giovanni Savarese these two being an important part of this club success.
This man appointment for this man by the club has made it imperative of building a competitor for many years to come. The success of every club starts from this front office, for its owner Merritt Paulson committed to many years of building not only a contender but also an elite squad.
As mentioned before in one of my articles, of this not being the end but the start of more amazing things to come for Rose City Soccer and many memorable campaigns. The way this threesome composed of Giovanni Savarese, Gavin Wilkinson and Ned Grabavoy. It shows off the commitment of the club to excel in many years to come.
In the end, this club is going in the right direction and the naming of Ned Grabavoy proves its seriousness with its amazing fan base.
