The expression on Ex-Coach Adrian Heath’s picture explains how I feel this week about Orlando City Soccer right now. After a turbulent last two weeks things on the field v. Houston were as expected. Orlando was sloppy in the midfield and showed no heart, want, effort, or passion.
The draw versus Houston is the least of OCSC problems to be frank. In the last 14 days the team has lost two Adrians (one Winter and one Heath) and right now both feel irreplaceable. On the field Winter has been one of Orlando’s best performers. One the sideline Heath has brought the team to the new era and piles of success in the old era.
As a neutral blogger it is a business, players, coaches and front office executives come and go. I get it! As a Orlando City Fan/Supporter/Fanatic this has been some of the worst times I can remember. In our short MLS history we do not have much to brag about. However, a once promising up and coming franchise with a marquee player, loyal fan base, and stability from the top down; now looks the complete opposite. There is no head coach, Kaka can’t find the pitch, and the fans are doubting the team.
Last June and July resulted in four points over two months. Right now if you promised OCSC would get equal results, I would take and be happy about it. For a team whose mantra is #DefyExpectations, My expectations are sweltering like black pavement in the hot summer sun. Hopefully when Orlando city takes the pitch on Wednesday 07/13/16 v. RBNY theres a little more to talk about.
