The Portland Timbers are building up in what looks a contested 2023 campaign filling one of it needs in signing Ivorian forward Franck Boli from Hungarian club Feruencvárosi Torna Club.
Boli, 29, has 42 goals and 11 assists in 126 appearances with the Green Eagles, considered a heavyweight club in this country top flight of the League of Hungary with a brace in the UEFA Champions League group stage back in 2020-21. So far in the course of the season, Boli ha scored three goals in 428 minutes in league play for the Green and Whites.
With the Ivorian National Team, he has made one appearance in the competition for the 2021 World Cup qualifiers. He has played in the Norwegian League with club Stabaek and Aalessund and Chinese Super League side Liaoning FC.
The arrival of Boli will be the addition of another option in the Timbers attack with Jaroslaw Niezgoda, Diego Gutierrez, and Nathan Fogaca as well Felipe Mora currently in the injury list.
So far, in the Primary Transfer Window the Portland side has its man on a deal not guaranteed on the long term and to maximize cap flexibility moving forward, in the end the Rose City team is looking to add an experienced center back to boost its defense.
As you recall Portland traded Bill Tuiloma to Charlotte FC last week, for Franck Boli his transfer is pending. Per sources in MLS.com they have revealed in their site about the new player the Portland Timbers are about to add to their roster.
