Portland Timbers briefly
These Portland Timbers are ready to rock MLS despite many callings of Group F as the dead one. Something tells me that the Mighty PTFC is looking forward to a successful run in this Back Tournament.
For the Green and Gold, before the season got suspended, it had many questions in regards of its defensive backfield as well in its attack with some players lagging and others trying to adapt to their new surroundings.
However for manager Giovanni Savarese, he is back to business and looking forward to a successful run in this tournament and looking forward to seeing his players adapt rapidly to his game scheme.
The question comes with the departure of defender Jorge Moreira to River Plate and leaving this spot for competition amongst Marco Farfan, Chris Duvall, Pablo Bonilla, and maybe Zack McGraw without any professional experience.
In the offensive game, Gio has multiple options to build up his attack with newcomers Yimmy Chara, Jaroslaw Niezgoda, and Felipe Mora. I’m looking forward if Savarese sends a 4-4-2 formation in seeing these latter ones playing together.
You never know, we may see a lot of goals scored from the Timbers by this possible new dynamic duo of Niezgoda and Mora!
In addition, the team is not depending solely on its offense through their Talisman Diego Valeri, who already was the team leader with two goals scored before this pandemic started and got the season suspended.
Probable lineup:
GK Steve Clark, Marco Farfan, Dario Zuparic, Larry’s Mabiala, Jorge Villafaña; Diego Chara, Cristhian Paredes, Diego Valeri, Sebastian Blanco; Felipe Mora, Jeremy Ebobisse
LA Galaxy Briefly,
For the so-called American version of the Galacticos, manager Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s regular-season start was not what he envisioned after his team just managed to score one goal and managing just a point in two games.
Once again, all eyes are set on its newest superstar signing Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez, after failing to impress in his first two games, looking at times very lost in the Andean game plan.
Still, both teams were not too impressive in their first respective games of the season and are looking forward to making an impact, in the face of missing some notable players from their roster as is the case of the Galaxy.
As the LA Galaxy is looking forward to making a decorous run in this tournament and for manager Schelotto in making his machine run like a well-oiled one, in the end, he will have a lot of work ahead to prepare a contender ahead of 2021.
Probable Lineup:
GK David Bingham, Rolf Feltscher, Nicholas De Puy, Giancarlo Gonzalez, Emilio Insua; Sebastian Lletget; Aleksandar Katai, Joe Corona, Sacha Klejstan, Cristian Pavon; Chicharito Hernandez
