When a team comes ready to play, good thing will happen, but on Saturday’s match at BMO Field, the Portland Timbers weren’t on their game as well for its manager Giovanni Savarese, mentioning of some of his team players simply not showing up.

The Timbers again did not fully play a match in its entirety and displayed not being a first half team, they paid the consequences to a final score of 3-1 in favor of Toronto FC.

This score ends the Rose City side’s unbeaten run of ten consecutive games as well exposing a weak side when they play on the road.

With a dominant first half by the Reds and paying off with a Jonathan Osorio goal in the 41st minute, assisted by Richie Lareya after beating the Timbers’ defense, the Canadian connection once again worked its wonders giving Toronto all the momentum.

However, not all was negative for the Portland Timbers after all kudos to Timbers keeper Aljaz Ivacic making a whooping nine saves and denying TFC a number of would be goals in both halves, especially in the second half.

Josecarlos Van Rankin scored his first goal of the season and in MLS, in the 73rd minute when assisted by Sebastian Blanco and Yimmi Chara leveling the score at 1-1.

Still, the Timbers didn’t put on a defensive lock on the Reds and results became very evident when Lorenzo Insigne delivered the go-ahead goal in the 79th minute to retake the lead that they never lost.

Once again Federico Bernasdechi became present after Ivacic’s refusal over a shot of Akindele its when the Architect of Fiorentina sealed the deal burying the Timbers with the insurance goal.

In the end, the Portland Timbers were very anemic on the field with just 3 shots to TFC’s 23 and with just two shots on goal over twelve for the Reds and a dominance of 56.3% in possession over the Timbers just 43.3%.
