With Major League Soccer announcing its 34-game schedule, the 2023 season schedule for the Portland Timbers, their 13th in MLS, is set. The Portland Timbers will kick off their campaign on Saturday, February 25 at Providence Park scheduled at 7:30 PM Pacific Time.
In this season, the Timbers will play against six Eastern Conference teams, playing Chicago Fire FC, Columbus Crew, and New York City FC at home and playing on the road against Atlanta United FC, CF Montreal, and FC Cincinnati.
The Timbers with four games booked for March, they will play their first away game against the 2022 defending champions LAFC in Tinsel Town, coming home to welcome expansion side St. Louis City SC on the 11th, and going on the road again to play Atlanta United on the 18th. Their last game to close on the 25th is at home with the LA Galaxy.
In April, the Rose City side will play back-to-back games on the road against FC Dallas and Vancouver before coming home to play Seattle in their first Cascadia Derby meeting. The last two games in April will play on 22nd against FC Cincinnati and on the 29th against St. Louis on the road.
In May, the Timbers will return to a home stand of two games against Austin and Vancouver before going on the road against Real Salt Lake on the 17th, returning home against Minnesota United on the 20th, and going on the road against Sporting Kansas City on the 28th.
In June, Portland is on the road in their second Derby meeting facing off against Seattle on the road and coming home to play against FC Dallas, on the road to play San Jose and returning home to play against Chicago.
In July and August the league will post three games, with July the Timbers playing on the road in Minnesota and Colorado and coming home to play Columbus. In August, they will play against Houston on the road and coming home with a two-game stand against Vancouver and Real Salt Lake.
September sees them play against Seattle on the road on the 2nd going back on the 9th to play LAFC at home, going on the road against Austin, coming home against San Jose and Colorado in back-to-back games and closing on the road to face off against the LA Galaxy.
In October, the Timbers will close against Montreal CF on the road and on a game to be disclosed against the Houston Dynamo.

The MLS regular season will begin earlier than ever before, kicking off on Saturday, Feb. 25 and running through Decision Day, the regular season finale, on Saturday, Oct. 21. The Audi 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs directly follow the regular season, with three consecutive weeks of action leading up to the 2023 MLS Cup on Saturday, Nov. 5. Notably, this is the first season in MLS history that the league will pause regular season play alongside Liga MX in late July and early August of the 2023 campaign to compete in the 2023 Leagues Cup. Details on the Leagues Cup season will be released at a later date.
