This team’s offense is missing a lot of important players to drive its attack. With a team that in its time has only managed to score just five goals with a midfield that hasn’t been too creative and effective serve up its attackers up front.
Let’s not blame anyone for this odd streak for the Green and Gold, as the team so far has a number of notable players on the Injury List and with no immediate solution to solve their lack of scoring.
Yes, with Diego Chara, Eryk Williamson and Santiago Moreno this latter one not playing like last season. For sure the man is in need of some inspiration and lacking accompaniment in the midfield with players of the likes of Sebastian Blanco and Yimmi Chara both sidelined with injuries.
Somehow. the ball is not making it into the back of the net and one thing that I applaud Giovanni Savarese for is bold moves as well giving the opportunity to young players of the likes of Diego Gutierrez and Teka Ikoba.
Still, the need to have a creative midfield and another player joining to the list in Evander who is considered an important player for upgrading the Timbers’ attacking options. The team is lost without him being to on the IL. For Gio and his coaching staff at gametime, it’s business as usual.
On Saturday’s game, the Portland side had a few opportunities at goal but couldn’t manage to score at least one goal. On the other side, the defense delivered a memorable afternoon in the Colossus of Goose Hollow.
With three defensive players scoring for the Rose City side with Juan Mosquera, Zac McGraw and Cristhian Paredes now out. The need of going and being more ambitious is imperative if this team is to make it into the postseason, as some of its notable players cannot be forever sidelined with injuries.
It is going to difficult at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. Portland has its share of difficulties in that part of Texas but anything can happen as FCD comes from an upsetting loss against LAFC in Los Angeles.

Welcome to Major League Soccer manager Nico Estevez, as the first year Spaniard is seeing the level of difficulty to keep his team as a consistent winner as this league is no walk in the park.
A team considered in all of Major League Soccer with one of the best academies and exporter of great players, they are in need of having a grand campaign filled with a lot of thrills for its fan base.
However, for FCD getting into a good start and currently seeded in fifth place, last week’s defeat in Tinsel Town against LAFC was something hard to endure for the Red Hoops with a late-game Dennis Bouanga win.
One thing for Dallas is the dominance they have had over the Rose City side and this is something they are looking forward to jump and get three golden points at home and if memory serves me right, they defeated Portland to a 4-1 rout last March
