There is no stopping Steve Clark, a man that in every season looks like a dynamo and playing like there is no tomorrow, becoming unmovable as the Timbers’ starting goalkeeper with Jeff Attinella, Aljaz Ivacic, and rookie Hunter Sulte as a fourth option between the sticks.
The Portland Timbers are not in need of adding another Goalkeeper perhaps seeing some competition for the starting position between Jeff Attinella and Steve Clark during the season.
For sure, we will have another primetime season where Steve Clark will be the Timbers’ and league’s top-class keeper and with new defenders and a drive.
In the defensive midfield, the Portland Timbers state that they are not in need of another addition accompanying the likes of Diego Chara, Eryk Williamson, Renzo Zambrano, Andy Polo, and Cristhian Paredes. Although the need of another player with experience will be ideal to accompany Diego Chara in the midfield.
Do not get me wrong as Eryk Williamson is expected to have another amazing season like he did in 2020, and is set to get several call-ups by the USMNT with the big team and well-deserved.
Still, Cristhian Paredes and Renzo Zambrano both have the drive to impress and earn a starting spot in Gio Savarese’s eleven.
In the case of Andy Polo, the man needs to be consistent with top-class game-day performances the moment he gets the call and step up his defensive game for a player of his international caliber for the Peruvian National team.
With a couple of players in free agency available, the team can be persuaded to keep their hands off, but in the end, will come out of how some of the players above mentioned can make this the season they long sought.
