The Portland Timbers announced today that the club has finalized the purchase of Tomás Conechny from Superliga Argentina club San Lorenzo de Almagro, by utilizing Targeted Allocation Money (TAM).
Since his debut in Portland, Conechny 21, has made 12 appearances, 2 starts, tallying one goal in 252 minutes played as well making three appearances (3 starts) with T2 with one goal and 217 minutes played.
His first start of this 2019, came against the Montreal Impact on June 26 and scoring his first goal in league play with the Portland Timbers.
Tomás Conechny career began in San Lorenzo de Almagro in 2016 and on October 16, came his debut in a 3-1 win over Arsenal de Sarandi. His feats with the Santos was of 14 appearances for the top squad and in the 2017-18 season he made seven appearances with 3 starts.
On the interantional stage, Conechny has represented Argentina with 21 caps (14 starts) in the youth levels, in the 2015 U-17 Sudamericano, 2015 U-17 FIFA World Cup, 2017 U-20 Sudamericano and 2017 U-20 FIFA World Cup.
His feats with the Argentinian National team are of seven goals at the youth levels, including a five goal production at the 2015 U-17 Sudamericano in Paraguay, ranked as a team high in the tournament.
Conechny will occupy an international slot on the Timbers roster.
