This sponsorship didn’t last too long for the Portland Timbers to terminate it suddenly after the team CEO Heather Davis decided to pull the plug on a support that was supposed to last a long time.
After learning of the company allegations of misconduct at the company included in a court filing as the club learned about it on February 23rd, the Rose City side decided to call it quits with this company for good.
The Timbers and a third-party firm conducted a thorough per-deal vetting process, that in the end they ignored the filing until yesterday February 27th.
This decision was rooted in the responsibility we have to our fans, supporters, partners, and employees to transparently reflect and uphold the values and expectations of our community.
In the end, Timbers CEO Heather Davis said that before the game against DC United on Saturday that the name DaBella installed at the stadium will be covered and removed definitely and the Hillsboro-based home repair company name and logo on players jerseys will be removed or covered.
Timbers CEO Heather Davis stated that the Rose City side will wear blank jerseys for Saturday’s game against DC United, as well terminating a seven-figure sponsorship with a “Lot of work to do”.
