The Portland Timbers earn an important win, thanks to a late Jeremy Ebobisse goal

Jeremy Ebobisse scored his third goal of the season with a spectacular shot in the 84th minute that gave the Portland Timbers a much-needed win and three golden points with 1-0 score at a full capacity Providence Park.

With a game that looked like it was going to end in a stalemate, Timbers manager Giovanni Savarese’s moves in the second half paid off in the end with a valuable win.

Savarese brought in Diego Valeri in the 64th minute. Suddenly, the Timber’s attack increased a notch but the lack of scoring was evident. The second set of moves for manager Savarese became the highlight, sending the whole of Providence Park into a frenzy when Sebastian Blanco and Blake Bodily came on in the 74th minute.

That is when the Rose City Boys’ game went into another level when Yimmy Chara passed in midfield to Ebobisse and with an amazing shot put the Timbers ahead.

Still, do not put Dallas aside as they had a couple of clear opportunities with both of their Homegrown alumni attackers Ricardo Pepi and Paxton Pomykal. Pepi and Pomykal came close with opportunities of their own. Timbers keeper Steve Clark rose to the occasion and the man became the hero of the game and earning his first clean sheet of the season along with two saves.

In the end, the Portland Timbers starting eleven put on its best efforts and coming close on Jimmy Maurer’s posts, when Dairon Aspirilla almost delivered in the first half, but both teams went into the half with no goals.

However, it certainly looks like the moves performed by a bold Giovanni Savarese paid off for the better for his Timbers, with both Valeri and Blanco giving the team that lost confidence and boost that made a world of difference with results speaking aloud.
