Timbers Betting on its Future with New Homegrown Contract to Blake Bodily

This season, Portland Timbers looking forward to a prolific season by reinforcing its squad with experienced players and looking ahead to their future with the addition of one of tis Academy prodigies in Blake Bodily.

With a Homegrown Player contract for this 2020 season, the Portland Timbers have signed midfielder Bodily as he becomes the third prospect from the Timbers Academy program.

Per the club general manager and president of soccer for the Timbers Gavin Wilkinson, the man expressed his excitement to add a Homegrown talent in Blake Bodily, after all his experience ranges since his days in T2.

Blake Bodily, 22, come from the University of Washington Huskies, in his three collegiate seasons from (2017-2019), there he tallied 17 goals and 18 assists in 56 games played (39 starts).

In his freshman campaign, Blake Bodily scored two goals, with five assists in 20 appearances (20 starts), followed by his sophomore year in 2018 Bodily logged two goals and five assists in 20 appearances in 21 games played.

In his junior campaign in 2018, he tallied 12 goals and six assists in 19 appearances (16 starts), he was named Pac-12 Player of the Year and earning United Soccer Coaches First-Team All-American honors.

Among other honors for the native of Eagle, Idaho and former Tigard High School alumni, he was three-time First Team All- Pac- 12 selection (2017, 2018, 2019), helping the Huskies clinch the 2019 Pac-12 Championship.

With T2, he played for three years from (2015-2017) tallying four goals and two assists in 35 matches (21) starts, despite his selection by the Timbers he will play this season with T2 and betting on his growth on the professional level.
