Portland Timbers Briefly

Finally, we are seeing the Portland Timbers delivering positive results.

There seems to be light at the end of the tunnel for now! The quest for the Timbers now is to deliver positive results when they play at home. Returning home with games in midweek and later Sunday, both matches certainly look a bit challenging.

So far, manager Giovanni Savarese, seeing his side bounce back in their last three outings, looks to continue the Timbers’ positive ways against a much-improved Colorado Rapids side on Wednesday.

How will the Portland Boys play against a red-hot Colorado, feeling a bit sheepish after their tie against the Galaxy? Will the Timbers be their prey in their efforts to move up towards the top of the Western Conference?

One way to find out, if the Portland Timbers managed the whole game in possession and not allowing the visiting Rapids side any liberties against their goal, we may see a positive result.

It’s imperative that the Portland side really scores a win over the Mile-High squad and continues working in its winning ways.

Probable Lineup:

GK Steve Clark, Josecarlos Van Rankin, Larry’s Mabiala, Dario Zuparic, Claudio Bravo; Diego Chara, Goerge Fochive; Yimmi Chara, Sebastian Blanco, Dairon Aspirilla; Felipe Mora

Colorado Rapids Briefly

For the third year at the helm of Colorado Rapids, manager Robin Fraser is seeing his team take off for the better and very well looking forward to bringing many satisfactions to the followers of the Mile High side.

Despite their frustrating draw against the LA Galaxy that prevented his side from occupying the Western Conference top. Fraser is seeing the fruits of his work at Dick’s Sporting Stadium in Commerce City, Colorado.

However, the man is seeing a turnaround and many improvements of his Rapids currently seeded in their conference in third place. Last year is still fresh in his mind when his side defeated the Timbers at Providence Park by the minimum difference.

With the Portland side currently on a winning streak, the Rapids will look to get a much-needed win on the road as well as derail the Timbers’ current winning streak and their momentum.

Probable Lineup:

GK William Yarbrough, Auston Trusty, Danny Wilson, Kegan Rosenberry; Lucas Esteves, Kellyn Acosta, Collen Warner, Braian Galvan; Jonathan Lewis, Mark Anthony- Kaye; Michael Barrios

Meetings

11/04/2020 Portland Timbers 1-0 Colorado Rapids

07/13/2019 Portland Timbers 2-2 Colorado Rapids

Line

A very even game on Midweek, the Timbers winning streak in peril against a tough Colorado side
