FIRE SIGN SERBIAN STOJANOVIC:  Chicago Fire FC continue their busy (and positive) news week by signing Serbian international midfielder Luka Stojanovic. He will join the club pending receipt of his ITC and P-1 Visa. He is under contract with the Fire through 2021 with a club option for 2022. 

Stojanović, 26, joins the Fire from Serbian Superliga side FK Cukaricki where he made 73 appearances over three seasons, including four in the Europa League. He scored 23 goals in the last two seasons across all competitions. 

“Luka is a highly intelligent player with experience from competitive leagues in Europe,” said Chicago Fire FC Head Coach Raphael Wicky. “In addition, he is a very versatile player who can create and score goals for the team. We are very excited to have Luka on our roster going into the 2020 season.” 

RED STARS ALLOCATED PLAYERS ANNOUNCED:  The NWSL revealed the list of allocated players from the US and Canadian national teams for 2020. As expected, the Red Stars’ allocated players include midfielder Morgan Brian, midfielder/defender Julie Ertz, goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher, defender Casey Short, and now defender Tierna Davidson. 

The Red Stars begin their eighth NWSL season on Saturday, April 18th against North Carolina Courage before their home opener a week later against Portland Thorns at SeatGeek Stadium.
