FIRE SIGN ARGENTINE ALISEDA:  Chicago Fire FC already announced a new TV home in WGN on Wednesday. They then announce the signing of 19-year old Argentine winger Ignacio Aliseda a Young Designated Player. Aliseda joins the Fire from Argentine Superliga side Defensa y Justicia where he made 38 appearances over two seasons and helping the side reach second in the Superliga in 2018. He also has two caps with the Argentina U-23 squad.

“Ignacio is already such an impressive player despite being only 19-years-old,” said Chicago Fire FC Head Coach Raphael Wicky. “He is very quick and technically gifted and has a great mentality. We’re very excited to add Ignacio to our roster and we expect him to be a key contributor for us moving forward.”

Aliseda is under contract through the 2023 season.

RED STARS ANNOUNCE HOME OPENER:  Now the main tenant at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, the Red Stars will have their home opener on Saturday, April 25th against the Portland Thorns (time TBA). It will be a rematch against the team the Red Stars beat to reach the NWSL Championship in front of 9,218 last October.

The Red Stars will also be the visitors for two other home openers. They will visit the two-time defending champion North Carolina Courage on Saturday, April 18th in a rematch of the NWSL Championship game. The Red Stars will also be the opponent for the Reign FC’s home opener on May 3rd at Tacoma’s Cheney Stadium.
