FIRE ADD GK DEPTH WITH SHUTTLEWORTH:  Chicago Fire FC have added goalkeeping depth by acquiring Bobby Shuttleworth who played last season with USL Championship side Sacramento Republic. Shuttleworth is under contract thru 2021.

Shuttleworth, 32, started at New England (2009-2016) where he made 127 appearances and earned 34 clean sheets. He later joined Minnesota United for their debut season in MLS where he made 58 appearances over three seasons with the Loons registering five clean sheets before joining Republic in 2019 where he made 15 starts.

“Bobby is a true professional and a very experienced goalkeeper,” said Chicago Fire FC Head Coach Raphael Wicky. “His experience and knowledge of MLS will be very valuable for our team. I look forward to working with him.”

Shuttleworth will be expected to challenge Kenneth Kronholm for the starting job this season for the Fire. H

CHICAGO FC UNITED HOME TO MLPS. CITY SC:  The draw for the first two rounds of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup were made on Wednesday. Chicago FC United of USL League Two were drawn at home to NPSL side Minneapolis City SC. The match will take place at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview on Tuesday, March 24th at 7pm. The winner will be away to USL League One side Forward Madison FC in the Second Round on April 8th.
