Toronto FC 2 – 1 Nashville SC
Toronto, ON – A significant victory, but not enough. Nashville SC were beaten 2-1 at BMO field and Javier Perez can take a breath and maintain his place as interim coach and keep trying to change the face of this Canadian team.
With great work and performance, Jacob Shaffelburg opened the score in the 18th minute. The game turned faster for both teams opening some goal opportunities although without success. After the break, the situation for the Perez group becomes a priority to keep the score or make another goal, there’s no room for another loss for the Reds’ bench.
Nashville SC tried everything to equalize de game until the Sapong goal at 74′ and a few minutes later Omar González sentences the final match result with an assist by Yeferson Soteldo.
This is the first win of Toronto at BMO Field since their 1-0 win over Vancouver Whitecaps back in August of 2020.
The number of injuries players are huge at Toronto FC, the bad results and even with this victory, a big section of the fans keep asking for the removal from the turf of some players including Head Coach Javier Perez and the General Manager, Ali Curtis.
