Dom Dwyer has been the player who has been depended on all season.

The fact that teams from Europe are starting to look at him is a sign that what Sporting has is a goal scorer which is hard to find when talking of MLS.

The support has been there of late as well as additional goals have come from all over.

But going south to Texas has not been easy for a good few years, 2011 was the last victory in North Texas.

In the time being there was the infamous 6-0 which cost then Curt Onalfo his job, earlier this season there was a demoralizing 2-1 defeat which started opening up exploitative holes for opposition.

This 2-2 draw is acceptable as it is points on the road and most importantly goals.

Thing is conceding two goals a game will not equal success in MLS and it had seemed that a turn in the season had occurred with the defense.

Champions League beckons

First match of the CONCACAF group phase begins on Tuesday for Sporting Kansas City as they travel to the Caribbean to face Central FC of Trinidad and Tobago.

For Sporting this is the second match in 15 days.

Every member of the squad is being called upon to provide cover and that also includes the fact that assistant manager Kerry Zavagnin will be staying with those not traveling to prepare for the home match on Saturday against Vancouver.

Rangers players loaned for Champions League

Amer Didic and Tyler Pasher have joined on loan Sporting Kansas City specifically to provide extra cover for the upcoming matches in the CONCACAF Champions League.

With the squad still suffering from injuries and in the midst of five matches in 15 days its all hands on deck at the moment.

Both Didic and Pasher have shown promise with the Rangers. Against Central FC they should be able to hold their own.

Another road loss for the Rangers hurts.

Now players are leaving temporarily for the senior side as it ramps up for the Champions Leauge.

Bright spot is that six of the last eight matches are to be played at home which should mean playoff qualification.
