This past week, both NYCFC and the New England Revolution bolstered their team rosters with Special Olympics athletes who played their first of two games prior to the NE Revolution vs. NYCFC match on July 6th. The teams played on the NE Revolution field wearing team uniforms and they had the complete game experience with a march onto the field, music, supporter group members chanting and a live feed on the big screens on the field. Afterwards, NE Revolution defender, Andrew Farrell awarded each athlete a medal of participation and he posed for photographs with the athletes.
