Houston Dynamo lost again at home. This time they got beat by Seattle Sounders 1-0 with a goal by Raul Ruidiaz in the 28th minute. This was the second loss for the Dynamo at home this season.
The Orange came to this match after getting a great 2-0 victory during the weekend against Nashville. But this time, they were not able to beat the CONCACAF champions.
The match was dominated by the visitors, who are trying to get back in the playoff spots in the West. They played smart and the defense was Sharp on Wednesday night. Also, the away side controlled the possession of the ball. This is something the Emerald City squad looks for to get pass their opponent.
On the other side, Houston tried, but as their coach Paulo Nagamura said in the post match press conference, the team was missing that killing instinct to make shots and create chances to score.
Another factor that affected the home team was the red card saw by ´Coco´ Carrasquilla. Playing with 10-men and being down in the scoreboard was practically an impossible mission for the Orange.
Even though the Space City team lost, they remain in the middle of the stands in their conference with 15 points, just 8 points away from first place Austin FC.
Seattle Sounders, on the other hand, have 13 points after 10 matches. Their next match will be a visit to the Colorado Rapids on Sunday, May 22nd.
Houston in their schedule has four visits for their next matches. Three games are part of the MLS regular season. The first one is against the LA Galaxy. Then they will travel to Salt Lake and Orlando. The fourth match Dynamo has in their schedule is their US Open Cup round of 16 match against Sporting KC.
