S2 forward Darwin Jones has won the USL Player of the Week. It is S2’s second successive award following on from last week’s victory for Pablo Rossi.

Seattle Sounders FC 2 forward Darwin Jones has been voted the USL Player of the Week for the second week of the 2015 season after he recorded his first professional hat trick in a 4-0 victory against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on Sunday evening.

Jones earned 38 percent of the vote, which was conducted by a national panel of independent media representing every USL market. Pittsburgh’s Kevin Kerr finished second, with 30 percent.

USL Team of the Week

GK – Carl Woszczynski, Arizona United SC: The new offseason addition played a vital role in Arizona’s 2-1 win in Orange County, with two big saves late to preserve victory
D – Colin Heffron, New York Red Bulls II: Showed versatility as he performed well both at left back and center back after a first-half substitution as NYRB II recorded a shutout
D – Cyprian Hedrick, OKC Energy FC: Strong throughout as Tulsa pressured, helped Energy FC come away with a point from its opener
D – Grant Van De Casteele, Rochester Rhinos: Helped limit New York’s attack, also threatened from set pieces in the opposing end
M – Magnus Rasmussen, Louisville City FC: Scored the first goal in club history and added an assist as Louisville took victory against Saint Louis FC
M – Kevin Kerr, Pittsburgh Riverhounds: Scored a hat trick – including what proved to be the game-winner – as the Riverhounds romped to a 5-2 win against Harrisburg
M – Justin Moose, Wilmington Hammerheads FC: Scored a well-taken volley and featured prominently throughout as Wilmington earned a 2-2 draw with Richmond
M – Rob Vincent, Pittsburgh Riverhounds: Teamed with Kerr to cause havoc for the Riverhounds and added two goals and two assists in a win vs. the City Islanders
F – Darwin Jones, Seattle Sounders FC 2: First professional goal and hat trick for the Homegrown signing against Vancouver
F – Heviel Cordoves, Charleston Battery: Dynamic throughout the game, Cordoves had two goals and added an assist as the Battery defeated Charlotte
F – Kharlton Belmar, Portland Timbers 2: Had a pair of goals – including the first in club history – as T2 won its inaugural contest
