Colorado Rapids 0-Real Salt Lake 6
The Rocky Mountain Cup is once again coming back to Salt Lake City. Needing a win to further their MLS Cup Playoff ambitions, Real Salt Lake more than delivered on Saturday night at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park earning the 6-0 win over the Colorado Rapids.
Damir Kreilach (6′), Jefferson Savarino (33′ and 58′), Joao Plata (69′), Corey Baird (74′), and Albert Rusnak (86′) provided the goals for RSL, which was their largest margin of victory in the club’s history. Goalkeeper Nick Rimando and the RSL defense continued their impressive run of form, earning their seventh shutout of the season.
With the win, Salt Lake (12-10-5, 41 points) maintain their hold on the fourth spot in the MLS’ Western Conference and earn their third win in five matches (3-1-1, 10 points). As for Colorado (6-14-6, 24 points) the loss extends their winless run to two matches.
