Foxborough, MA – The New England Revolution II have named Richie Williams as the club’s second Head Coach in club history.

Richie Williams, 53, joins the New England Revolution II after 5 seasons as Assistant Coach of the New England Revolution first team. Williams began his coaching career as an Assistant Coach with the University of Virginia Cavaliers (2005-06). He then transitioned to become an Assistant Coach for the New York Red Bulls (2006-2011), where he also served as an interim Head Coach twice, in 2006 and 2009. After New York, Richie transitioned to United States Youth National Team (2011-2015). He then moved on to Real Salt Lake (2015-2016) as an Assistant Coach, before returning to the United States Men’s National Team (2016-2017) as an Assistant Coach. After the USMNT, Richie took on a job as Head Coach of Loudon United (2019) of the USL Championship. He then left the club after taking on the role as Assistant Coach of the New England Revolution (2019-2023).
In career remarks, Richie as a player, Richie is a 3x MLS Cup Champion, 2x Supporter Shield Winner, 2x MLS All-Star, and a Gold Cup Champion.
As a coach, Richie has won the 2021 Supporter Shield with the New England Revolution.
Joining his staff are Richie Williams (Associate Head Coach), Yuta Nomura (Goalkeeper Coach), and Pablo DiBenedetto (Sports Performance Coach).

Richie Williams is now the Revolution II’s second Head Coach in club history.
He follows the footsteps of Clint Peay (2019-2023) as official Head Coaches for the Revolution. (Rob Becerra & Brad Knighton held joint-interim title in 2023.)

Via Twitter, the Revolution II posted Curt Onalfo’s first statements after naming Richie Williams as Head Coach.
“We are excited to have this staff of skilled and experienced coaches in place as we get set to begin the Revolution II preseason… Coming off a record-setting year for our second team, a second MLS NEXT Cup Championship, and adding three more Homegrown Players to the first team roster, we are more confident than ever in the fact that our pro pathway is preparing these young players for the next stage of their careers. We are eager to see that growth continue in 2024.”
