The New England Revolution would play in their third match of the week this Sunday night at Gillette Stadium. Coming off of two clean sheet road wins, the Revolution would keep momentum and take care of business at home. A 2-1 victory over Eastern Conference rival Montreal would keep the Revolution in first place in both Eastern Conference play as well as the race for the Supporters Shield.
Gustavo Bou would continue his hot start to the season, scoring twice to help guide the Revolution to their tenth win of the season. In the 29th minute, a play created by Matt Polster would be completed by a strike by the Argentine, a shot that struck the crossbar before entering the net gave the Revs a 1-0 lead.
The Revolution continued to press forward, having two goals recalled after VAR in this match. A strong performance by the Revolution was capped off with another Gustavo Bou goal in the 73rd minute that would ultimately decide the match.
