FOXBOROUGH, MA– The New England Revolution are set to sign free agent goalkeeper Tomáš Vaclík to the club’s MLS roster.
He will occupy a senior roster slot.
Tomáš Vaclík is a 34-year-old, 6’2 185lb goalkeeper from Ostrava, Czechia.
At the club level, Vaclík has played 501 career games (45,040 minutes) across the Czech Republic with MFK Vítkovice (2007-2010), and FK Viktoria Žižkov (2010-2012), Prague with Athletic Club Sparta Prague (2012-2014), Switzerland with Fussball Club Basel 1893 “FC Basel“ (2014-2018), Spain with Sevilla FC (2018-2021), Greece with Olympiacos Piraeus (2021-2023), and England with Huddersfield Town A.F.C. (2023). He now joins his 8th professional club in New England. Internationally, Vaclík has 84 total international appearances (54 senior appearances) for the Czech Republic National Team.
In career numbers, the goalkeeper has allowed 545 goals in his career with 166 career clean sheets. The goalkeeper has 12 yellow cards & 3 red cards.
In club career honours, Vaclík has won the Czech First League (2013-14), The Swiss Super League (2014-15, 2016-17, 2017-18), The UEFA Europa League (2019-20), and the Greek Super League (2021-22). Internationally, Vaclík has won Bronze at the UEFA European Under-21 Championship (2011) and won bronze at the China Cup (2018).
In 2018, he was named Czech Footballer of the Year.
On August 21st, The Blazing Musket‘s Seth Macomber reported that the Revolution were eyeing Tomáš Vaclík as Đorđe Petrović’s replacement. The Athletics‘ Tom Bogert later confirmed that New England was nearing a deal to sign the free agent keeper to replace Petrović. Petrović just completed a $17,000,000+ transfer to English Premier League side Chelsea FC.
The New England Revolution are eyeing Tomáš Vaclík as a replacement for Djordje Petrovic.

Vaclík is set to join the club in the coming days.
The New England Revolution (12-7-4, 43 pts.) return to MLS play on August 26th as the team heads to Montréal, Quebec, Canada to face CF Montréal (10-2-12, 32 pts.) in an MLS Match. The match kicks off at Saputo Stadium at 7:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.
