FOXBOROUGH, MA– The New England Revolution II have announced that they have signed defender Herson Barry to an MLS NEXT Pro professional contract for the 2024 campaign.
He will occupy a Senior roster slot.
Herson Barry is a 6’1, 198 lb defender from Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
Barry, 24, signs with New England after a 2-year tenure at the University of Wisconsin- Green Bay. During that time, Barry logged over 2,500 minutes in 30 appearances from 2022-2023. The defender is a two-time Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year, an All-League First Team, United Soccer Coaches Association All-Region First Team, and Academic All-Horizon honors. He was a Conference Champion and led his team to an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2023.
The defender had previously begun his collegiate career at Barton Community College and California State University, Bakersfield.
In career numbers, Barry has 0 goals, 0 assists, 10 yellow cards, and 1 red cards during his 2-year tenure with the University of Wisconsin- Green Bay.
