FOXBOROUGH, MA– The New England Revolution II’s 2023 MLS Next Pro schedule has been officially released.
Following a long-anticipated wait, the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro schedule was released shortly after 2:00p.m. on Tuesday, March 14th.
The league announced that matches will begin Friday, March 24th and that the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro season will feature 27 clubs this season including seven new MLS affiliates.
Following the schedule drop, MLS NEXT Pro released the new conference alignment. The New England Revolution II feature in the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference along with NYCFC II, Philadelphia Union II, Toronto FC II, New York Red Bulls II, and Crown Legacy FC (Charlotte FC).

Along with the schedule and conference alignment, MLS NEXT Pro also announced a brand-new playoff format implemented to begin this season.
The 2023 season will feature and expanded playoffs format that will include a “pick-your-opponent” element in the first two rounds.
The club(s) with the most regular season points on each respective conference will be the #1 seeds and will earn a first-round bye, which automatically will qualify them for the Conference Semifinals.
In the Conference Quarterfinals, the #2 and #3 seeds of each respective conference will then choose their opponents and host their match. The two teams that are not selected by the higher seeded opponents will then play each other, with the highest seeded team hosting the match.
In the Conference Semifinals, the team with the most overall points in the conference (#1) seed will choose their opponent from the two remaining lowest seeded teams and host the match. The second highest seed will host the remaining team.
The Conference Final will be played with the team with the most regular season points (highest seed) hosting the team with the lowest points (lower seed).
The MLS NEXT Pro Cup will be hosted by the team with the most regular season points (highest seed).
This is the type of absurdity that will make MLS NEXT Pro a league of choice https://t.co/jRwApoipTz
