Revolution II draw Orlando City B 1-1, win 3-2 in penalties to close-out last regular season home game

FOXBOROUGH, MA— The New England Revolution II (14-5-8, 56 pts.) tied Orlando City B (12-10-4, 41 pts). in a 1-1 match and then were victorious 4-3 in penalties on Thursday night.

The match kicked off at 7:30 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Following a corner kick taken by Jake Rozhansky, bodies were flying in the box and defender Victor Souza managed to get his head on the ball and head it home into the top left corner for his first career professional goal.

Entering the 26th minute, New England had 3 back-to-back-to-back chances as Jake Rozhanksy (1 right-footed, 1 headed) and Damian Rivera (1 left-footed) chances were met by saves from Orlando goalkeeper #50 Javier Otero.

In the 37th minute, Orlando City B defender #28 Abdi Salim was issued a yellow card for a harsh foul on Revolution forward Joshua Bolma.

Following a short corner by Orlando City B, #58 Juninho drove into the penalty area, elected for a right-footed shot which was saved by a diving Max Weinstein; however, the rebound was let up in the box and tapped home by Orlando City’s #27 Jack Lynn. The goal is Lynn’s league leading 18th goal this season.

Following the goal, Revolution II head coach Clint Peay made his third change of the match by substituting midfielder Noble Okello and replacing him with midfielder Patrick Leal.

New England’s first chance of the second half came in the 67th minute when Olger Escobar’s right footed shot into the bottom left corner of the net was met with a save by Orlando goalkeeper #50 Javier Otero.

In the 74th minute, Revolution II midfielder Patrick Leal was issued a yellow card for a harsh foul on #65 Christian Medina.

In the 76th minute, Revolution II midfielder Jake Rozhansky was issued a yellow card for a harsh foul on #58 Juninho.

Entering the 79th minute, Revolution II head coach Clint Peay made his fourth change of the match by substituting midfielder Jake Rozhansky and replacing him with midfielder Ben Awashie.

New England had yet another chance to take the lead in the 82nd minute when Marcos Dias’s left-footed shot from outside the box glanced just over the top left corner.
