Report: Chelsea to make bid for Fire’s Slonina

CHICAGO, IL–Gaga Slonina has a lot of suitors in Europe and one of them may finally be ready to submit a bid. Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea FC have reached a verbal agreement with Chicago Fire FC after direct discussions between owner Todd Boehly and the Fire.

The fee is reported to be $10 million with add-ons, plus Slonina would continue with the Fire on loan. An official bid is expected this week. Slonina has started all 19 league matches so far for the Fire and has a 1.42 GAA. In 30 league matches total over two seasons, he already has 12 clean sheets.
