Portland Timbers 2 : 0 New England Revs
With a 2-0 win over the New England Revolution, the Timbers accomplished something they have not seen since their pre-MLS days.
Three consecutive wins.
A quick start from the Timbers saw a lot of early chances with the Portland side dominating possession, but the Revs managed to hold them scoreless until late in the second half when forward Fanendo Adi notched a brace with goals in the 86th and 89th minutes.
The Timbers defense held the Revs scoreless, giving keeper Adam Kwarasey a clean sheet and extending a defensive streak that hasn’t seen a goal scored by the visiting team at Providence Park since April 12.
