On this week’s edition of Radio MLS, Sean Maslin (D.C. United beat writer for Prost Amerika, co-editor for MLS Multiplex, MLS featured columnist for BackPage Football) is joined by Juan Arango (Digicel SportsMAX, Soccerly, ESPN) to talk about one of the biggest football tournaments in the world: the Copa America.
With Saturday’s final between Argentina and Chile set, Sean and Juan talk about who has the edge going into the final, talk strategy, and what a victory would mean for either nation. But beyond the final they look at Brazil and Colombia’s poor performances, Peru’s run to the semi-finals, Mexico and Jamaica, and the state of refereeing in South America and the global game. Oh and some guys named Messi and Neymar might get mentioned once or twice.
Plus make sure to stick around to the end for a fascinating discussion on U.S. Soccer. Won’t spoil any of it so make sure to listen in!
