New England Revolution vs. Chicago Fire FC

Saturday starts with a battle between two teams who held a 1-0 lead on the road only for the home team to peg them back and beat them, 2-1. In the Fire’s case, it was two Jordan Morris goals that defeated them while the Revolution were felled by goals form Romell Quioto and Maxi Urruti.

The Fire showed some signs of positivity in their match last week, but the defense remains a question mark. Robert Beric and Alvaro Medran did give a good account of themselves in their Fire debuts. Gaston Gimenez and Ignacio Aliseda have received their visas and have joined the club in New England.

Teal Bunbury got the goal for New England in their match last Saturday, but their defense has been suspect. They do have a midfield to watch in Diego Fagundez, Adam Buksa, and Gustavo Bou.

The Fire had two goals chalked off for offside last Sunday. In both cases, there was a mental lapse in terms of positioning on the pitch. That, and other mental errors need to be cut out if the Fire are going to get a result in this one.

Kickoff for the match is at 12:30pm CT on WGN-TV.
